I am looking for information regarding the John R. Grogan family.  I do know that he was born in the Parish of Lisdowney, County of Kilkenny on May 24, 1815.  I do have his obit from the Rome, NY paper where he fell on an icy sidewalk and broke his collar bone, the shock resulting fatally in march 1891.  John Grogan is my great, great, great grandfather and his wife, Bridget Dunphey (not sure of spelling), my grandmother. 

John Grogan was previously married to Mary Buggy who passed in Ireland as well as a son.  

John and Bridget had 5 sons all named for his brothers. James H Grogan (born in Kilkenny 12/25/51-9/1/1904) John F Grogan, Edward Grogan, William Grogan and Patrick H. Grogan

John Grogan also had two daughters, Julia (1844-1892) married John Bogan and Bridget Grogan married Edward Brady?

I also have a list showing that he may have lived on Bohergloss in Freshford, Kilkenny.

If there is anything out there about John R Grogan I would love to hear about it.

    I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and located the July 29, 1837 marriage reocrd for John Grogan and Mary Buggy. The marriage was  held in the Freshford RC parish and John was shown as being from Freshford but I looked at the actual record and it is not clear who lived in Freshford--John or Mary or both.  https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000635338#page/63/mode/1up

    Roots Ireland had three children for this couple:  Bridget 1840 Judith 1842 Patrick 1845. All three were baptized in Freshford and the family was from Freshford. By the way, Freshford RC parish is just to the south of Lisdowney RC parish.

    The marriage to Bridget Dunphy on October 9th 1852 was in Lisdowney but son John was baptized December 27, 1851

    The 1849 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Freshford civil parish does show John Grogan in Bohergloss https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/kilkenny/freshford.htm
