Hello

I am looking for any info regarding Patrick Gibbons c1847 and Margaret Kerrigan c 1850 .Their eldest son John was  baptised in Aughaval parish Co. Mayo in Jan 1869. They moved to England shortly after and had several more children and all the baptism’s confirm the mother’s maiden name ( though with many different spellings). I have been unable to find a marriage for them or the name of their parents so any info., would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Genie

    Hello

Further to my recent post I have found a possible civil marriage for Patrick and Margaret in Liverpool in 1867.   So I am assuming that Margaret would have returned home for the birth of her first child John. Would this be usual/practical?

If I have the correct birth then the informant was a Francis Kerrigan, Occupier, which would suggest it was her father who registered the birth on the 8thJan1869

All the other children were born in North Shields/ Sunderland.

     Thank you Genie

I think it did happen in some situations but not a common practice.
