Hello!
I have been trying to find where in Ireland my Fee ancestors came from. I have tried a lot of ancestry sites but have hit brick walls. My ancestor is Peter Fee born around 1812 give or take a few years in Ireland. His parents were said to be James Fee and Martha McGarvey. He eventually settled in Philadelphia, US. Any help will be appreciated!

The 1831 census lists 2 households, James Fee junior & James Fee senior in Ballymully, parish of Desterlyn, Co Derry. They were beside each other and are likely father & son. Ballymully is near Magherafelt.

Both families were Church of Ireland. Desertlyn Church of Ireland’s records start in 1797, so you could search them to see if Peter’s baptism is listed. There’s a copy of the records in PRONI (the public record office) in Belfast, and there is coverage of some years records on the rootsireland site (subscription).
The families had left the townland by the time of Griffiths Valuation c 1860.
