I would like to use this opportunity to make contact to a volunteer/volunteers from Bekan/region, familiar with its historical borders who may share my interest in its natural heritage and that of the region including relevant built heritage. I spent a considerable part of my child- and adolescenthood at the ancestral home of my Ronayne-Tarpey ancestors, and like it inspired many of them to also engage at a regional, national, international level, I followed in their footsteps and am not based on the ground at this juncture. I had already acquired a wide knowledge of local history however, have followed local affairs in the meantime and kept an eye on the local level of interest in heritage from a distance. Knowledge is still there, material heritage is endangered however, and now is the time for us whose" people" come from Bekan, from the region, to mobilise. Accordingly, I would welcome hearing from Bekan and thank you at the Reaching Out end for faciliating further contacts.

There is a lot of information about this at https://samploon.com/free-essays/cultural-identity/ as it is a very interesting topic for those looking for their roots. As a representative of mixed blood, I often have the following question.
