My ancestors are Owen Daly b. 1790 and Sarah Crony? b. 1792. They both died in Ardagh around 1870.
They had 9 children:
Jeremiah 1818-1865 emigrated to Australia
Catherine 1819 - 1902 died in Dublin
Janette 1824 emigrated to Australia with brother Jeremiah
Charles 1827 - 1881 emigrated to Australia
Peter 1830 - 1874 emigrated to Australia
Mary 1830-1835
John 1833 - 1899 emigrated to Australia
Mary 1836 - 1912 died in Fermanagh
Sarah 1840 - 1875 emigrated to Australia
Any information of those who remained in Ireland regarding this family would be appreciated, in particular, regarding a Thomas Daly [and presumably his wife Mary Ann] who were the witnesses to the marriage of Catherine Daly and Thomas Prosser in Dublin in 1851.

The 1852 Griffiths Valuation records for Co. Longford show an Owen Daly in Moor townland in Ardagh civil parish likely your ancestor.
The subscription site Roots Ireland has an October 14 1854 marriage between a Mary Daly and a John Kane. The RC parish was Ardagh and Moydow.
The 1901 census for Moor townland shows a Mary Keane (variant for Kane) age 60 a widow. Possibly the same Mary who married John Kane.
A Mary Kane from Moor age 75 died in 1908. See last record at this link https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1908/05494/4538881.pdf

Thanks Roger for the information on Owen Daly.
I don't think the above Mary Daly is my ancestor. She never married according to her brother's will in 1899 and the fact that she lived as a spinster with her niece Martha West in Tamlaght, Castlecoole in the 1911 census.
The real mystery is who is Thomas Daly.
