Hello,
I am trying to find out about the Crean or Creen family of Kirkistown or surrounding area. Ellen Crean or Creen born around 1813 and died 1886 was married to Patrick Gilmore born around 1809 and died 1869. Patrick was a farm labourer. Patrick and Ellen were my great great grandprents their daughter Elizabeth who married David Gilmore was my great grandmother. They had several children, George, Elizabeth, Ann Jane, Catherine, Wlliam there could have been more. Hope someone can help. Thank you W McLauchlan

This may be Ellen’s death on 17.8.1887 in Dundrum:
Tradition was to marry in the bride’s church. I see that Elizabeth Gilmore married in Ballygalget chapel, and was born c 1846. They have baptism records as follows:
Jan 11 1828 - Apr 18 1835l
June 18 1852 - Feb 20 1853 (transcript)
June 2 1852 - Feb 28 1864
Nov 10 1866 - Dec 19 1880And marriages as follows:
June 9 1852 - Sept 5 1866
Mar 4 1867 - Oct 20 1880So you may find some of Patrick & Ellen’s childrens baptisms there but the gaps mean some may not be found. Likewise their marriage, if it was there, looks to be too early for the records.
