Looking for any information on Cornelius Corey born around 1800 and his wife Ann Dougherty (also born around 1800). They had several sons and at least one daughter, Catherine, born 1820.. Charles Corey, born December 26, 1831 came to America in 1862 with his wife Mary J. Emery. . My Great Grandfather, Michael Corey ( born in Ireland September 29, 1860) came to Philadephia, USA. with his parents. We do know his parents names were Michael Corey & Letitia (Quinn). We also know that Michael's father was also a son of Cornelius because Michael was raised by his Uncle Charles after the death of Michael's parents (around 1864/5). They died shortly after coming to America, Letitia & son Hugh, 1864, Michael, 1865. They are buried in The Old Cathedral Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My Great Grandfather Michael also died at a young age in a quarry accident in 1889 .
We are planning a trip to Ireland next summer and would like very much to try and find some more information while we are there, possibly even locate their resting place.

I did searches on Roots Ireland and Find My Past and could not find records for Cornelius, Charles or Michael. Corey was not a common surname in the 19th century and from the output I received, it would appear that Co.Tyrone, Co. Armagh and possibly Co. Clare are the likely counties for your ancestors. The surname Dougherty or Doherty is much more common in the Ulster counties.
Have you considered autosomal DNA testing?

The only thing concrete that we have is on Charles Corey. His immigration, natuaralization record says he was born in County Tyrone, Ireland. He left Londonderry, September 1852 for Philadelphia, USA. We also have his Church death register stating his parents names as well as his death certificate, which also has his date of birth.. We did find a Michael Corey in a place called Ardstraw but we are not sure if there is a connection.

There are two side by side RC parishes Ardstraw East and West and I'm wondering if they were from Ardstraw East where the records start in 1860. See links below to the parish register. Also, the records for the two parishes are not on Roots Ireland but they should have been included on Find My Past.

I did look at the 1859 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Ardstraw civil parish and in that docement the surname is show as Corry. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/tyrone/ardstraw.htm
