There are two families called Condon in both the 1901 and 1911 census. Maurice Condon, a baker, was my great-grand-father. I would love to know if the John Condon who was described as a general labourer in 1901 and a carrier in 1911 was his brother. John's daughter Margaret married James Kiely, the founder of the funeral directors James Kiely and Sons.
Thanks!

They could be brothers - followed up by starting with the 1911 census returns for Maurice and John and located births for a childr in each family to determine the surname of the two wives - David Condon born September 1893 to Maurice Condon & Anastatia Sweeney, and Maurice jnr. born 1894 to Maurice Condon and Margaret Nocton (Naughton). Based on the names of the couple and the years married recorded on the census I found probable marriages for both couples - Maurice Condon & Anastasia Sweeney on the 25th August 1892 in Dungarvan, and John Condon and Margaret Necton in Fourmilewater (near Clonmel) on the 18th February 1890 - father of the groom on both marriages is David Condon, farmer - you can view the full details on the free IrishGenealogy website using the links above

Thank you for looking at that - your findings tie up with my own which is reassuring. It's a great shame that only the father's name is recorded for a marriage! I've also looked at baptism records on Roots Ireland and the sponsor names suggest a connection, but that could just be coincidence of course. I've looked at the local newspaper images on the Waterford Council site to see if articles about the deaths of various people suggest a connection between the two families but unfortunately there hasn't been anything one way or the other.
