In 1806 this couple obtained part of the lease at Corndog.
Various sources show that his wife Margaret Edge was born circa 1760. This is consistent with the fact that she bore children circa 1780-c1805.
The birth date of her husband Charles is not know but I "suspect" that he was baptized at Aghold Church of Ireland on May 28 1744.
The page of the parish register is damaged so his Christian name is not legible. The last two letters of such "appear" to be "as".
As some other entries on the page have the Christian names abreaviated...for example Willm for William, I would "guess" that this entry was for "Chas of Edward and Hannah May 28 1744".
As Chatrles died about 20 years before Margaret, the difference in age would make sense.
WOULD APPRECIATE ANY COMMENTS.

I have seen "James" appreciated as "Jas." So "Chas." is not the only name abbreviation ending in "as."

Hi,
The abbreviations for Nicholas are usually Nich. and Nics.
For Thomas, "Thos."
No final "as."
I hope this helps.
