Catherine and Michael Keane

Unfortunately, the RC baptismal records for Castlebar start in 1838 so if Catherine and Michael were baptized in that parish, records would not be available. I checke Roots Ireland and they did not have any Mayo baptismal records for a Catherine Keane from 1826-1836.  There were two Michael Keane records but not in parishes bordering Castlebar.

Catherin Keane , married to Jiohn Smith was my third great grandmother on my mother's side. I have not been able to discover who were her parents!

Unfortunatley Catherines brother Michael Keane born 1931 died in Richmond (Bridewell) Prison in 1850, he did not come to Australia.

They were convicted together of sheep stealing in 1849 Castlebar, Mayo.
