Looking for information on Brigid Columb, daughter of Hugh Columb & Brigid Sexton. Brigid was born & baptized at St. Colmcille's Church  in December,1852. Married to Patrick McNerney, sometime around 1885. Eventually they moved to the United States, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Patrick was born  & baptized in November, 1854 at St. Colmcille's Church. He was the son of Patrick McNerney and Ann McGarry.

    I searched on Roots Ireland and the civil marriage records available on www.irishgenealogy.ie and did not find a marriage record. Any possibility they were married in the States?

    I looked at the 1920 census and if I have the correct family, it appears they emigrated separately? Do you have access to Ancestry.com?

    You may already have the information below since you last posted but I thought it best to share anyway.

    On Find a Grave there is a gravestone in St Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage, Mercer County, PA, USA for a Patrick McNerney died 10/6/1922 and Bridget Columb died 22 ? /1/1929.

    There is also a record of a Bridget Columb married in the Granard Area, Ireland, in the Jan-Mar 1894 quarter, but I have yet to find that marriage in the records online.

    Her father Hugh died 7/1/1897

    Her mother Bridget died 1/3/1899

    They lived in the townland of Aghacordrinan, Columbkille, Co. Longford.

    Children of Hugh and Bridget I have found:

    Daniel baptism 31/1/1847 died 14/11/1927 married Mary Donohoe 14/2/1888

    Patrick baptism 24/10/1849 died 10/1/1923 married Susan McCormick 30/9/1880 (parents of Padraic Colum 1881-1972)

    Ann baptism 20/6/1851 died 12/1/1936 married Mathew Ryder 23/11/1882

    Bridget baptism 9/12/1852 married Patrick McNerney

    Alice? (maybe Josephine?) baptism 10/8/1854

    Rosann baptism 12/3/1857 died 23/11/1937 married Robert C Beatty 15/12/1897

    Hugh baptism 18/6/1859 died 24/9/1940? married Anne McNamee 4/11/1901

    Maria baptism 22/1/1861

    Mathew baptism 6/1/1863 died 14/5/1882

    Maria birth 24/7/1864

    Margaret bith 11/1/1867 died 30/6/1957 married Philip Hourican 18/8/1889

    There is a Daniel Columb in Aghacordrinan in the Tithe Applotment Books in 1823 and again in 1933.  Could be Bridget's father Hugh's father?  There is a Hugh Columb in Aghacordrinan at the time of Griffiths Valuation in 1854.

    I have lots of Columbs in my family tree.  Hopefully all the above is correct and helpful to you.
