Does anyone know what happened to the townland of Bishopswood after the 1838 Tithes.
Where was it in Kilmore and how was it renamed?
Thank you.

Apologies if I've asked this before- I cannot find the answer.

Fionn:
From what I can see, the place name Bishopswood was subsumed into the townland of Clooncoose. It appears there was a lot of emigration from the area between 1838 and 1855. There were 16 lease holders in 1838 and only 7 in 1855.
The only lease holder to cross over was Thomas Stapleton.
From the logainm.ie site here is the location of Clooncoose townland in Kilmore civil parish.

Roger what about the tithe places Lescolvin, and Gurgullen & Nockabreenen? What did they become? I'm chasing a Martin Kelly.
Thank you.

Fionn:
I could not find a crossover for Lescolvin.
It appears that Corgullion would be the townland for Gurgullen (in fact the Tithe spelling was likely wrong and meant to be Corgullion).
Nockabreenen is likely the townland of Knockavreaneen.
