I just took my first trip to Ireland to see my mothers childhood home.  It was a marvelous experience, one I hope to repeat.

We (the Sullivan offspring) have much information but one person is missing.  Any information will be greatly appreciated.  My mom had an older brother named Batty Sullivan, born Nov(?) 1906.  He was the second son of Mary Ellen O'Neill and Michael (Mick) Sullivan of Inchinteskin, Eyeries, Cork County Ireland.  When Mom reached her destination port on Sept 2, 1927 she named him as the purchaser of her passage.  And he was a resident of 503 E 23rd St, New York, NY.  Other than that, have been unable to find any record of Batty anywhere in over 20 years.  Hes a complete mystery.  I dont know if he married, perhaps became a priest, or what.

I was told that he passed away sometime in the early 1940s, but have no documentation or proof of that tidbit of information.

As I said, any information will be appreciated.  Thank you for your help.

    proudire,

Attached are Bartholomew's WWII draft card and the 1940 census for him. You'll see that he is living with Thomas McMullen's family, and that is who he mentions on the draft card. He was a grocery clerk. There is also a record for a a Bartholomew Sullivan on Find a Grave website, but I cannot attach it. It shows his death 22 Nov 1990 in Charleston, Maine and he is buried in the veteran's cemetery in Augusta, Kennebec City, Maine. The info. in that record shows parents were Michael and Mary, and someone noted he was single with no children. He has the same birthday as in the record that Roger attached - 25 Oct 1906. Maybe it is him? I could not locate him in the 1950 US census.

Just tried to upload the 1940 census, but it's too big for here....if you have an Ancestry account you can see it there. If not, I can give you more details if you like.

    Regards,
