Castle Talbot Thatched House
Castle Talbot Thatched House

This thatched house is located in the civil parish of Killila in County Wexford.

The house was most likely built around the year 1700 and records show that it was well established by 1840.

The building consists of a single storey with dormer attic build on a rectangular plan.

The building has been identified as a farmhouse, and although it and the associated grounds have been allowed to fall into a state of disrepair, renovations were begun in 2007.

The thatched roof is made of oat, and considering the lack of usage is in surprisingly good condition.
