  • William’s father was one of s series of Morgan Kennedys.  William was born in Ballyquin, Mothel, Co Waterford, and was a gardener at Curraghmore House, Lord Waterford’s estate before emigrating with his family to the US in 1880.  Before leaving, he lived on a small orchard in Rocketscastle (or Mayfield) just outside of Portlaw. He was descended from Richard Kennedy, a middleman for Lord Mansfield of Mansfield Lattin, and was the father of Anne and Catherine Kennedy, the victims in the “notorious Kennedy Abduction” which was much publicized in the 1800’s.  Richard died at  Whitestown House, near Clonea-Power.  I believe Richard’s son Francis Kennedy relocated at least part of the family to Ballynamultina House, Clashtown, Co Waterford.  I also beleive he was connected to the Kennedys who live in Rathgormuck.  William was my gg grandfather.  I lieve in Brunswick, Maine, USA, and am anxious to trade information about the Co Waterford Kennedys, and/or to compare DNA samples on GEDMATCH.  Please feel free to contact me at jdk@eastwindfarm.org.  Thank you. David Kennedy
