Timothy Madden 1828

Back to List

Hello!

Timothy Madden lived at Annesgrove as a "tenent farmer" I believe, starting around 1861 and for possibly 30 years. He was married to Mary Sweeney. They are my great-great grandparents. Their son, John Henry Madden was born at Annesgrove (1866) and immigrated in 1890 to Boston. He was my great-grandfather. There were 8 more children that were born there and most of them also immigrated to Boston. I am trying to confirm that they lived at Annesgrove and where on the estate they lived? Id like to learn what they did there and for how long they lived there. Are there any databases that I can research to learn specific information concerning Annesgrove and who lived there and when? So far I have not been able to learn any specifics. Thank you for any insight and help! It is all much appreciated!

Additional Information
Date of Birth 27th Jul 1828
Date of Death 1st Jan 1891

  • My ancestors are also from around Castletownroche.  They seemed to be on a farm - family legend that it was a dairy - but I found it was a piggery!  And I found this information from the Griffith Valuations.  Lots of info on there and you can even see an old map of areas.

Have you looked at Griffiths Valuations?  That may shed some more light.
