Thomas WHITE born c1802 Co. Antrim, possible link to WHITE family of Whitehall, Broughshane, civil parish Recavan.

Thomas married c1830s (wife's name and location marriage not known) possibly Co. Carlow, daughters Margaret and Elizabeth born early 1830s, wife died date not known.

Thomas married Sara/Sarah O'CONNOR from the parish of Dunleckny, Co. Carlow, their first daughter Mary Ann born Ballyconnell, baptised 9 SEP 1838 R.C. Parish Clonmore.

Sarah had a brother Owen O'CONNOR who may have been a Shoemaker in Dublin.  Thomas' daughters Margaret and Elizabeth moved to Dublin prior to 1859.

Thomas White and Sarah O'Connor moved to Ballyconnell, Co. Wicklow where 8 more children were born before the family immigrated in 1859 to Auckland, New Zealand on the vessel Shalimar.

In Griffiths Primary Valuation for Co. Wicklow Sara White is recorded at Barchuillia Commons, civil parish Kilmacanoge.

  • Thomas's first marriage may have been to Catherine Goff. Daughter Margaret White born 27 Oct.1831.
