Thomas Robinson was born, probably in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, about 1800. His parentage is unknown.
He married Magdalene Armstrong of Bellacasidie, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. She was born about 1809 and died at Shanmullagh, County Fermanagh on 8 Jan 1897 at the age of 88.
Thomas' occupation was usually listed as a farmer, although he occasionally appears as a labourer. He died 30 Dec 1891 at the townland of Shanmullagh, aged 91 years.
The townland of Shanmullagh was located in the parish of Trory. A townland covers the area of a farm and may have over a dozen names on it. The property returns detailed in the 1901 Census of Trory Parich show that all the male descendants of Thomas and Magdalene had either died or moved away.

- William, b. 1 Jan 1854, d. 20 Feb 1934 Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
- Latitia (or Letetia), b. 9 Jul 1856.
- John, b. 23 Jun 1859. He never married. His occupation at the time of his death was listed as labourer. He died 10 Mar 1897 at Shanmullagh. The cause of death was listed as chronic plethisis, as condition which he had for 2 years.
