The name “Roger” is used in Church records for “Roderick”. Roderick and Bridget Galvin are listed as the parents of Thomas Galvin in the cemetery records of St. Joseph's Cemetery, Price Hill, Cincinnati, Ohio. Their birth dates are expolated from Thomas' birth date of 1819/1825 which would make Roderick's probable birth date somewhere between 1790 and 1800. As the birthplace for Thomas is Roscommon, Ireland, Roderick and Bridget are placed there. The baptismal record for Brigid Galvin, daughter of Roger Galvin and Brigid Flanagan on 13 January 1818 has sponsors Thomas Galvin and Alice Quinn. This is the Thomas I think is a brother to Roderick. The Tithe Applotment Books list “Broderick” Galvin in Co Roscommon, Kilkeevin, townland Cloonconrath in 1832This must be the same townland as “Cloonconra” as the same names are found- Luke Flanagan, Pat Flanagan, Bernard Higgins, Francis Higgins, Michael Page, Patrick Mahon, Flin,
NOT PROVEN - JUST A HUNCH.found a baptismal record for a Thomas Galvin, son of Eugene Galvin and Mary Flynn, on 27 Apr 1832 in Castlerea. Sponsors were William Freeman and Mary Mannion. From the date, this Thomas would have been the same generation as our Thomas and Owen. I think any Galvin born in Castlerea has to be closely related to our family and the names mentioned in this record fit right in. There was another baptismal record for a Patrick Galvin, son of Eugene Galvin and Margaret (no last name - probably a transcription error and it's probably Mary). This record was for 24 August 1829 in Castlerea, sponsors: Mathew Coll and Elizabeth Coll. I figure Eugene is Roderick's brother.
