Hello, my name is Brenda McCausland Cunningham and I am looking for information on my 4th Great Grandfather Robert McCausland 1796-1869. He married Mary Jackson, and he had 4 sons. Joseph, William, Frederick, and James.
When Robert was 16 years of age he was signed up for the 88th Foot Soldiers, 2nd Battalion. On his papers it says he was from Antrium, and that his parish was Balyclare. His occupation was a weaver. Attestation was in Dublin July 1812.
That is all I can come up with. Can someone please help me find who his parents are? Or just give me a push in the right direction. Thank you for your time.
