Tenant of Thomas Ball
Peter Quinn immigrated to Cambria County, Pennsylvania sometime between 1850-1851. His wife and 5 children followed in February of 1852 on the ship Roderick Dhu. Peter suffered severe burns in an accident and died in August 1959. In 1860, his wife was living in Millville, Cambria, Pa. with her younger children and an Edward Collins who was 10 years older (possibly her brother). Nothing further is known of Catherine. Their two daughters married and remained in the area. The oldest son Edward married Mary Callen of Pa. and worked as a puddler in the Cambria Iron works. Edward served 3 months in the Civil war and worked for the US Navy during that time. Eventually he moved to Braddock, Pennsylvania where he worked in the Edgar Thompson Steel Mill. He was the father of 12 children. He died in 1914.
