Migrated to/Born in Australia
Hi, just trying to confirm my Great Grandfathers mother's name.
Patrick born & baptised on 8/2/1852 (also known as John Patrick) appears to have travelled to Australia on 17/5/1882 with his brother Maurice. Maurice married Anne Whalen on 16/8/1885 in Tenterfield NSW & Patrick married Mary Ann Hawkins soon after on 9/1/1889.
The problem is our family believes that Patrick & Maurice were children of Maurice Savage & Mary Carmody, however Patrick's Baptismal Certificate KY-RC-BA 475228 lists his Mum as Mary Corcoran. We suspect the priest recorded the wrong name here. Sponsors at the Baptism were Thomas Savage & Elizabeth Louney. Patrick & Maurice were from Curraheen.
Any help appreciated.
