Patrick Moore, a farm labourer, was born in County Kerry, Ireland circa 1790-1800. His parents are thought to be Maurice Moora and Honora Moore (nee Carroll). On 8 August 1833, Patrick was convicted of stealing money in Kerry, Ireland, and sentenced to 7 years transportation to Australia. He was deported on the ship "Blenheim 1", arriving in Port Jackson, Sydney, on 14 November 1934.
In 1830, in Ireland, he married Anastatia Roach or Roche, daughter of Elizabeth and Thomas Roach or Roche, of Killmanahan, County Kerry, Ireland.
His date of birth is uncertain as his convict muster states her arrived in Australia in 1834, aged 35, another record has his age at arrival as 33. His gravestone in the Catholic cemetery in Yass, New South Wales, Australia, states he died on 28 December 1879 aged 89. His Certificate of Freedom dated 1844 states his date of birth as 1800. So he could have been born any time from 1790-1800.
The list of Male Convicts arriving on "Blenheim 1" has him noted as follows: Standing No. of Convict 34-2356; Indent no. 125; Age 33, Can Read; religion Roman Catholic; Married with 1 male child (Maurice); Native Place County Kerry, Ireland; Trade farm labourer; ... former convictions none. Height 5 foot 4.5 inches; complexion dark sallow & freckled; hair colour black with grey; eye colour hazel; particular marked or scars (illegible), breast and arms hairy .. crooked finger on right hand.
In 1837 he was listed with James Thorn, Yass district, New South Wales, Australia, said to be aged 35.
On 29 May 1839 Patrick was issued with Ticket of Leave no. 39/1042 (source NSW State Archives NRS 12202 (4/4129, Reel 933). His Certificate of Freedom was issued 12 February 1844.
His wife, Anastatia, aged 39, and their first born, Maurice, followed Patrick to Australia, arriving on the immigration ship "Ramillies" on 11 August 1850. They had a second son, Patrick, in 1851 in Yass, NSW.
