Patrick Joseph Doyle served with the British Army. Enlisted in 1868 aged 18 years, in Dublin. No mothers details on marriage certificate in 1881 (India), only father's name. Amelia Rebeira, wife, was 18 years of age when she married Patrick. In 1883 they travelled via Steamer (Rosetta) to Australia. Left India in March 1883. Arrived South Australia in April 1883. Record from the Destitute Asylum in Adelaide, for Amelia and child, Patrick Joseph Doyle. Amelia was Portuguese/Indian. They lived all around the mid north of South Australia and had children: Patrick J. Doyle (died in WA), Margaret T.A.A. Doyle (died aged 15 in Laura, SA), Agnes M.M. Doyle (m. George B. Wilson), Thomas J. Doyle (m. Esther Wilson), James B. Doyle (m. Violet A. White). Patrick disappeared many times leaving Amelia and the children to support themselves (in South Australia). Found many articles on Trove. Last time he was mentioned was about 1909. Family has him dying maybe in Western Australia (where his eldest son lived). Can find no death for him.
