Michael Moore : Short Biography

Not sure where exactly my great grandfather was born in County Galway and would sure appreciate any advice. He emigrated to Canada mid 1800s and settled in Canada West (Upper Canada, today Ontario) where he developed a multi-generation farmstead just outside St Marys, Ontario, He may have come to North America with other relatives; family legend has it that some Moores went on to the American midwest including nearby Michigan and also Iowa. I am the last Moore in that particular line. My sister and I have no other living Moore relatives of which we are aware. 

Any ideas out there?
