Stayed in Ireland
Michael Burke (Bourke) was born about 1811. He is listed in Griffith's Valuation 1855: James D. Meldon leased land to Michael Burke of Townland Belmont, Parish Liskeevy, Galway (Liskeevy later merged with Addergoole to become Milltown). Michael paid an annual rent of (pound sign) 4-5-0 for 15 acres, 2 roods, 21 perches of house, offices and land.
His death notice says he is 72 years old, which gives a birth year of about 1811. He married Honor(a), who died in 1901. Her maiden name was perhaps Connelly (needs further confirmation). Michael Burke of Belmont, Liskeevy (Milltown) and Honor(a) had at least four children: Anna, Michael, Margaret (my Great Grandmother) and Bridget (who married a Costello).
