This is my first time on this website. I'm not sure I'm using it correctly. I've listed a bit of information that may or may not be correct. Obviously, I'm trying to identify the origin of my great-grandmother, Mary Theresa O'Connell, who was born on August 15, 1861. Per her obituary, she emigrated to the United States "as a small child more than 50 years" before her death at age 86 in 1948. Her parents were Michael O'Connell and Ellen Kane, neither of whom I have been able to identify beyond their names.
Mary married John Patrick O'Brien in the United States. He (I think) was born May 21, 1854, in County Mayo, and it is possible that he emigrated in 1877 or thereabouts.
These are just two of ten Irish ancestors I hope to better identify. I appreciate any help you can offer, even if it's just to re-direct me to another source.
