Mary Ryan was born in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland about 1856. Daughter of Michael Ryan (Farmer) and Nancy Cane, she married William Love (B: Abt 1840 in Dundee Scotland), in Killkee, County Clare, in 1875.

Mary and William immigrated to Australia in approx. 1876. They spent twenty years in South Australia where Mary raised their family of nine children. The family lived in Port Victor/Victor Harbour, Norwood and Oodla Wirra before moving to Victoria (10 years), then Sydney, New South Wales (4 years). Mary died at home at 34 Railway Pde, St Peters, NSW, from asthma and acute cardiac failure on 20 February, 1912. She is buried in the Roman Catholic Section of Waverly Cemetery, New South Wales.
