Migrated to/Born in Australia

Mary Foran came from Kilfenora but entered the Ennnisymon Workhouse with her parents Patrick and Bridget at the height of the great Famine. She came to Australia when she was 16 on the 'Thomas Arbuthnot' on the Earl Gray Scheme arriving in Sydney in January 1850. After she was assigned to Brisbane Moreton Bay,  she married my gg grandfather Edmund Mellor who was a very wealthy steamboat company owner. She died from a fever along with 2 of her children in 1859 at the age of 26. My great grandfather Edmund Foran Mellor survived.
