Migrated to/Born in Australia

Martin was convicted of stealing a cow. He was tried at Ballina 10 January 1849, sentenced to 10 years transportation and arrived in VDL (today Tasmania) on the Hyderbad in 1850. On arrival Martin only spoke Irish. He received a conditional pardon in 1855 and making a success of life he sponsored his family members Ellen and Katherine to Tasmania in 1856. Ellen is definitely his sister. In 1860 he sponsored more members; Martin Walch aged 25, John Walch 23, Mary 35, Bridget 30, and Margaret 20. All are from County Mayo

I believe he may have married a Bridget Hoban in Ireland before he was transported and the Bridget he sponsored in 1860 may be his wife
