Daniel's wife's surname doesn't seem to be mentioned in any records. Perhaps you are thinking of Martin Gallagher (a generation later than Daniel) who in 1833 married Mary Sheehan in Castlelyons, Cork (likely her parish). Their son Daniel was baptized in the RC parish of Glanworth, Cork, in 1837. The family was living in Boherash at the time. Internet bots seek out hints for Ancestry, but the bots take names from trees that are correct as well as incorrect so I think this is probably what has happened with the name Mary Sheehan.
My great-grandfather, Martin Gallagher, born 1864 in Glanworth; died 1932 in the Bronx, NY. This image is from his days as a NYC police officer, circa 1900.
His father was Daniel Gallagher, 1818-1890; his mother, Julia Bourke, 1826-1905. Both from Glanworth.
I believe Daniel's parents were Daniel Gallagher (1775-1848) from Glanworth, and Mary Sheehan (1794-1847) from Castlelyons. But not 100 percent sure on that.
Would love to be able to trace the Gallagher line back further, or the Bourke line. The Gallagher clan was not traditionally a Cork clan, but rather, from Donegal historically.
