  • Lawrence was from Palmfield (also known as Gortanure) known as Gortanure) Palmfield/Gortanure is one of the five townlands on the east end of Kilbeagh civil parish that were transferred to Co. Roscommon as part of the Local Government Act of 1898. I have located six civil birth records for children of the couple: Catherine 1867 Michael 1870 John 1872 Laurence 1874 Brigid 1876 Winifrid 1879. I also located a September 5th 1868 baptismal record for a daughter Mary. The baptisms for the children were all in the RC parish of Carracastle which is close to Palmfield/Gortanure but is on the Mayo sie of the border. Very likely Bridget was your Elizabeth Bessie Cooke.
