The information I have is that John O'Kane was born at Baronscourt, County Tyrone. We think his father would have been a saddle maker or something to do with the stables. I visited the estate in 2013 with permission form the Duke of Abercorn. We were graciously allowed to wander through the Rhododendren gardens, but all records hard been removed to Belfast. Belfast was the wrong direction from Cork our next place of inquiry for Mary Ellen Barrett, his future wife, whom he met in New York and married in San Francisco. He is buried in Holy Cross Cemetary, San Mateo, California
