Place of migration
Migrated to/Born in UK

On Uk Census 1901 and 1911 his place of birth is shown as Galway but think this could be Roscommon or Connacht. He was born in 1853/56 and his father was Richard Meehan who was a butcher.

I can trace his history from 1882 when he married my G Grandmaother, Ellen Dyer, in Chesterfield who was also Irish desent.

In the Uk he worked as a Hewer/miner in Chesterfield, Golborne and Manchester.

I Know he was alive in 1911 as he is shown on the Census and appears to have been alive in 1920 when his daughter, Ellen Winifred Meehan, married. His wife EM died in 1928 and is shown as a widow on her death certificate so I'm assuming he died between 1911 and 1928.

I have found some possible links in Glenammady

If this rings any bells then I'd welcome any information no matter how trivial.

Thank you
