  • This is my great grandfather from Ireland,,,cork county, with many generations in that area, who married a Mary Sullivan from Ireland, and immigrated to the US in about 1858--his first son Michael was born in Massachusetts. He died in Hibbing Minnesota, with several of his children and their families nearby. I have been unable to find either of my GGP parents-- it was thought his father was Jerry, and his mother Kate.

  • I have a Mary O'Sullivan/Sullivan in my family tree.  Christened in 8 Feb 1832 in County Kerry, Ireland.  Her parents were Timothy O'Sullivan (1777-1845) and Honoria McCormack O'Connor. My O'Sullivan's were from far eastern County Kerry in Knocknaghashel which is very close to Cork.  My grandmother (Mary Gladys (O'Sullivan) Bertrand left a handwritten genealogy that I believe she wrote out in 1918 with her father, James O'Sullivan (1856-1925).

  • I forgot to add my ancestry and the brother of my James is a son named Jeremiah O'Sullivan born in 1865 in Kilquane, Brosna Parish, County Kerry, Ireland.  I realize this isn't your Jeremiah but that is an unusual name so I wonder if there is a connection.

Thank you so very much for the information!! I will research and pray that I will have a breakthrough! We have not had any information on her family ,,,and the information from when they immigrated was very little,,,,she would be my great grandmother. She died in Michigan in 1886, and was buried in Wisconsin. We know the cemetery and some of my cousins have traveled there to "visit with her."
One of my cousins has traveled to Ireland (from Minnesota USA) several times, and even talked to Riobard O'Dwyer about Mary,,,it was felt she was from Kerry, but we have had few hints.
'Mary is very special to us,,what she went through in her short life, coming to a new country, moving several times, and raising 9 children.
I will keep you informed of my research,,,thank you once again! Jeanne
