My grandfather, James Gallagher (10 January 1870), immigrated to the United States in 1892 after the death of his father. He settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and later moved to Iowa where he was a Pastor in many small towns for the Methodist church. He is buried in Springville, Iowa where his final pastorate was. I was able to visit his and my grandmothers' (Isabella, nee Stewart) grave a couple on months ago when I was visiting in Iowa a few months ago. He was one of at least 10 children and two of his four brothers (maybe more) settled in the United States. One of his brothers', Thomas Hugh Gallagher was also a Methodist Pastor.
