I have a James J. Condren born 1840 in "Seven Churches" Ireland (I think this is Clonmacnoise) according to his American Civil War records. He survived the war but not in the best of health. He married Mary Eloise Campbell, settled in Connecticut, worked as a gardener for the Samuel Colt family (of Colt revolver fame), and died at 38 years old on 4 May 1878. I have the impression he probably never fully recovered from illnesses during the war. I have found six children so far, James F., Mary Ellen, Rose O., Anne Josephine, Margaret E., and Elizabeth A. I descend from Elizabeth A. I've been trying to tie him to your James and Mary Temple Condren with some American "cousins" I share a little DNA with but we haven't been able to find the documentation yet.

James Conran/Condron was born in 1798 and married Mary Temple in Clonmacnoise on February 15, 1830. They had two children, Kieran Conran (born 1831) and John (born 1833).
