George Shannon was born circa 1837, at the time of his marriage he lived in Carnlough. He married Eliza Stewart in 1860 at St Mary's COI ARDCLINIS. His father was Peter Shannon a farmer, George was a shoemaker. He had two daughters Jane and Mary. They may have had more children, but as they were married in 1860 any births before 1864 would be in the parish register. George moved to Belfast, Co Antrim and died there in 1895.
