Ellen FITZGERALD, daughter of Marry CARRY and Morris Fitzgerald, was born in Dungarven, County Waterford, Ireland ca. 1832.
At the age of 21, she arrived in the United States and settled in Wisconsin with her parents, four sisters, and three brothers.
In 1853 she married John Christopher. They had ten children.
Ellen (Fitzgerald) Christopher died of Asthma and old age on April 27, 1916, in Cherokee, Iowa at the home of her daughter.
Funeral services were held at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Shullsburg, Wisconsin and she was buried in the Catholic Cemetery west of town.
