On 3 June 1968 Galway’s Anthony O’Reilly died at Kien Tuong, in a reconnaissance operation near the Cambodian border during the Vietnam War (Battle of Trong Cong). The bravery of O’Reilly, 39th Infantry Regiment 1st Bri-gade, is captured in his ‘Distinguished Service Cross’ citation http://projects.militarytimes.com/citations-medals-awards/recipient.php….
