When Andrew O'Ryan was born in 1771 in Ireland, his father, Edmund, was 26 and his mother, Mary, was 21. He married Mary Scully on the 2nd June, 1791 and they had two children together, Francis (1797-1857) and Edmond (1800-1835). He also had two sons with Catherine O'Donnell; William O'Ryan and Jeremiah O'Ryan. He died in 1823 in his hometown at the age of 52, at Bansha Castle.
