Andrew Jordan and his wife, Catherine Gough were both born about 1824-26 in Ireland.
I have found a marriage record dated 02 Mar 1851 for Andrew Jordan and Catharine Goff at St. Andrew's, Dublin City, Westland Row.
It is believed that they arrived in the United States in 1851. There is little doubt that Andrew and Catherine moved into St. Mary's parish in New Dublin, Stephenson County, IL, as that was the only Catholic Church in the area west of Freeport at that time.
Their daughter, Julia was born in Jan, 1852 in the area west of Freeport and son James obituary, many years later, says that he was born in 1857 near Freeport, where the town of Lena has since been built.
The 1860 United States Federal Census shows Andrew and Catherine living in the Town of Waddam, Stephenson County, IL with their children, Julia, Patrick, James, Andrew and Mary C.
There is no "hard" information about the family from the 1864 birth in Stephenson County, IL of their youngest child until their arrival in Dakota Territory. In 1870 the family staked a homestead claim in Union County, Prairie Township, Dakota Territory. This is where they spent their remaining years.
Their daughter, Julia Ann married Edward Fitzgerald 31 March 1871 in Emmet, Union, Dakota Territory.
